Thousands of people in Washington DC have commemorated 60 years since Martin Luther King Jr’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, a seminal event in the civil rights movement.
His family and activists recounted his importance and reflected on where equality now stands in 2023.
Addressing the crowd, the Reverend Al Sharpton said: “Sixty years later, we are the dreamers.”
