The second features a gray base with black piping, trim, and laces. Double V webbing and red accents on the Swoosh/lining create a winning combination.

the questions and answers

Q: Growing up in Oregon, what does it mean to be a Nike athlete?

A: “It means the world to me. I always wore Nike growing up, so it’s a dream come true.”

Q: Do you put something special on your gloves? (Someone’s name, a date, a Bible verse, etc.)

A: “I wrote “CP” on my gloves for this year. My close friend and teammate Corey Phelan passed away this fall after battling cancer, and this is one way I can keep him with me on the mound.”

Q: What’s the biggest adjustment you’ve had to make since you got drafted?

A: “The biggest adjustment has been my routine on days I’m not pitching. I always have to be on top of my routine to stay healthy and mentally in a good place.”

Q: The biggest piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

A: “I would tell myself to control what I can control on the mound. Don’t worry about what’s out of your hands or the game will speed up quickly.”
